This book is the result of my journey – the story of a young woman who makes a series of choices that gradually change her into someone she doesn’t know. It is not a book about religion so much as it is a woman’s story, my story within a church and within patriarchy. Most importantly, it is a book about protecting the vital connection we each need to have to ourselves, our values, and our dreams.
A number of years ago I found myself at a place where I wasn’t using my best gifts, my creativity or my voice. I felt invisible and unseen and turned to my love of music to make a needed change. Creating work of my own to share with the world has taught me ‘something beautiful’ about the need we each have to be seen and recognized for who we really are - both by others, and perhaps more importantly, by ourselves.
Shannon is a singer, actor, composer and writer. She taught herself to sing at age four by replicating the voices on her favorite Broadway albums and later trained in classical piano and voice. Shannon has sung for audiences all across the US and internationally and is currently writing a one-woman musical-comedy and a broadway musical. Shannon lives in Vancouver, British Columbia with her youngest child, who isn’t all that young and graduates high school next year.

About the Album
With warm vocals and imaginative lyrics, Shannon offers listeners an intimate glimpse of herself in this debut EP. The album has a classic sound – a mix of pop and ‘70s infused soft rock. It was produced by Scott Mathews in Mill Valley, CA. Shannon performs all vocals and piano on the six tracks.
