I had originally planned to write the story as a musical. I was writing the music and began working with a playwright, but when the pandemic arrived my playwright got stranded on an island without a decent computer or connection. I had to do something, so I switched gears and wrote a book instead. I still might write the musical someday. I should, because now I’ve got this great duet for the two main characters just lying around.
